The 24th Annual Town of Mount Pleasant Blessing of the Fleet and Seafood Festival Presented by East Cooper Medical Center is slated for Sunday, April 17, at Memorial Waterfront Park with a full slate of activities to delight everyone.

“The favorite activities people have come to love and expect at the festival will all be there, along with a new procession on the pier,” said Nicole Harvey, Town Special Event Planner. “We are excited about having the blessing on our beautiful new pier, which will offer a great opportunity for festival participants to experience the boat parade up close and personal.”

Blessing of the Fleet activities include local seafood from some of East Cooper’s favorite restaurants, live music by East Coast Party Band and Southwood, shag and shrimp eating contests, a juried craft show, an art display by the Mount Pleasant Artists Guild, Sweetgrass basket displays and children’s activities.

The festival will begin at 11:30 am with music by Southwood. The blessing procession on the pier will start at 12:45 pm; leading to the Blessing of the Fleet and Parade of Boats at 1 pm. Southwood will play again from 1:45 to 2:45 pm. Lowcountry favorite East Coast Party Band will play from 3 to 6 pm.
